Ultimate Kid Joe is a concept I created around 2008/9, before the superhero craze took off. The central idea is that of a teenager without any super powers living in a small town which becomes a refuge for supervillains trying to find a base of operations where their plans will not be regularly thwarted by superheroes. Our protagonist then has to rise up to the occasion armed only with his wits and ability to improvise everyday objects into crime-fighting tools. (The initial name of the character was ‘Super Average Joe’ but a TV producer commented that it wouldn’t appeal to the target audience). Disney’s Kim Possible is a strong inspiration for the designs.
